When we spoke with The Dirty Heads frontman Jared Watson the band was about to embark on a multi-city tour alongside Gym Class Heroes, “we’ve never played with Gym Class Heroes but I can tell you that we are going to go out and crush it, put on a good show and hopefully everyone has fun,” he revealed back in September.
The singer also revealed that they planned to perform 3 new songs from their forthcoming album. He said, “We’re going to be playing a bunch of new stuff which is cool… I think we need it and I think the fans need it too. They’ve been waiting [for new material] for a long time.” “I think it’s going to be a perfect mix,” he added.
Unfortunately the co-headlining tour came to an end sooner than anticipated. It was recently announced that due to illness Gym Class Heroes is “cancelling the remaining performances on the co-headline tour with The Dirty Heads. The Dirty Heads will continue on the road to finish out the tour as planned as the sole headliners. The band Wallpaper will continue on as well as direct support.”
“The tour, which began October 9th in Dallas, TX is running through the fall and ending on November 19th in Anaheim, CA. While the November 4th date in Milwaukee will unfortunately be cancelled altogether, The Dirty Heads will continue to play the rest of the dates as scheduled.”
In a press release released on November 1st the band stated: “While we hope Travie gets better soon (nothing worse than being sick on the road), the last thing we wanna do is cancel the whole tour. So no matter what happens we wanna stay out and keep playing music and putting on the best shows we can for you guys. Whether it’s playing for 2 people, 20 people or 2000 people we are staying out. Thank you guys for your continued love and support. We love you peace!!!! And it’s the first time we are playin’ some new songs!! Hope you enjoy.”
