About UsSinister Girlz was originally created in January of 2002 in print format. The first issue was printed in color on a home printer on 8 ½ x 11 paper and was only 4 pages long. The zine produced six issues per volume and would eventually become a professionally printed glossy 24 page magazine.
Issue 2 Volume 3 became the first issue of Sinister Girlz that became available on the web. Sinistergirlz.com had been the publication’s home since the zine’s initial conception; it offered the readers updates, photos and tidbits from each issue but with the release of Issue 2 Volume 3 for the first time issues in their entirety were available online. The Issues became available in 2 formats: In Print (This version was only available on a back order basis and for promotional purposes) and Online (PDF versions of the issue were available online for download).
Issue 4 Volume 4 was the first professionally printed issue and featured legendary singer-songwriter Joan Jett. In the summer of 2009 it was announced that after 7 unforgettable years Sinister Girlz would be closing its doors. The response from readers, musicians, labels and management were so overwhelming that after months of planning the final issue it was decided that Sinister Girlz would revoke its initial retirement plans and re-launch as a frequently updated online magazine featuring show reviews, CD reviews, interviews and features from all genres.
The publication also welcomes CDs, Fanzines, and demos for review (preferably in digital format) and accepts music related articles. Anything submitted is either read or listened to and considered for review and/or featuring.
Please include your name (or band’s name) and brief bio when submitting material for review.
