Congratulations on your new album, “A Light In The Dark” it is outstanding and made our Best of 2016 list and was even nominated for Album of the year by SinisterGirlz.com upon hearing the news what was your initial reaction?

Woo! That’s awesome! I was definitely excited.

You mentioned that the recording process of this album was very taxing, you even broke your foot at one point! Looking back on the entire process would you change any of it? Or does it feel like those things needed to happen in order to produce this great record?

It certainly was. It was an exhilarating and stressful process. When I broke my foot I was like…well, I guess I’m going to be recording vocal tracks sitting down now!!! I wouldn’t change a single thing. I’m super happy with the process. What I learned was to give myself even more time–I initially planned for a May release and didn’t get everything out until December!

Was there an extra amount of pressure on you because this record was crowd funded?

For sure. I had promised everyone their packages by May, so I wanted to get everything out on time. My backers were super supportive, though. It helped that I was transparent, and kept them updated along every step. Every time I sent out a “everything’s going great, it’s just taking longer!” update, I got lots of supportive “take your time, do it right,” type of responses.

Since we are at the end of 2016 what are some of your goals for the new year?

Next year I want to bring my full band to some tour dates in Manhattan, as well as write a new song every week to start gathering material for a new album. There will be definitely be some solo touring in the summer. I’d also really start getting into licensing my music for film and TV–I’ll be doing a lot of pitching songs from A Light in the Dark and will keep you posted if anything gets placed. And OF COURSE I’ll be making some more music videos for A Light in the Dark tunes since we had so much fun and had such a great response from the Fish Out of Water music video.

Will there be touring in 2017?

Yes! No dates to announce yet, but there will be hopefully some local NYC stuff happening in the spring and an East Coast tour in the summer.

Thank you so much for stopping by this year and performing live on Sinister Girlz Live and congratulations again on your stellar album!

Thanks!!
