Latin Grammy and Grammy winning duo Jesse & Joy brought their “2022 Cliches Tour” to New York City’s Beacon Theater on Saturday, March 19th 2022. Ecstatic fans took pictures of the empty stage in anticipation of the return of live performances. For some it is their first concert since the pandemic. The theater housed masked individuals eagerly chatting away in Spanish.
Opening act Chule introduced herself with a guitar-driven ballad. The Argentinian singer’s sweet vocals struck a chord with attendees who cheered her on and applauded loudly. The house lights remained dimmed as Mexican rock group, Little Jesus, made its way to the stage. They had the crowd dancing and cheering and the crowd was ready for the main act to take the stage.
After a brief intermission the house lights dimmed once more and the ampersand lit up along with the tour letters “Cliches.” The crowd screamed as the duo dressed in red brought the crowd to its feet, the crowd knew every word to each song. They performed all their hits, “3 A.M.,” “Me Quiero Enamorar,” “’Me Soltaste,” and “Mañana is Too Late,” among others. The siblings have such an impressive musical catalog that it lent itself to two encores.
Their infectious hit, “Espacio Sideral” had the crowd jumping to their feet and part of their concluding set was their hit ballad, “¡Corre!” The “Cliches” tour continues to make its way across the US concluding on April 10th in Indio, California.
