In a nail-biting race to the finish, the New York Liberty defeated the Connecticut Suns on Sunday, October 1st with an 87-84 win. The New York Liberty was dubbed a “super team” due to the off-season acquisition of current 2023 MVP Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Courtney Vandersloot and like it or not they are advancing to the WNBA Finals to face defending champions the Las Vegas Aces. This will mark the first WNBA Finals appearance for the New York Liberty since 2002. The New York franchise has never won a championship and these ladies (the entire roster) are not taking it lightly. Although excited they are poised and understand the pressures of representing New York.
Game 1 of the WNBA Finals begins Sunday, October 8th when the Liberty will take on the Aces in Las Vegas. #GoTeamLiberty
